The UCR Foundation Board of Trustees is granted all corporate powers and the fiduciary responsibility to manage the Foundation’s endowment portfolio. The UCR Foundation Finance and Investment Committee meets on a quarterly basis to review and discuss the endowment portfolio and other financial matters pertaining to the Foundation.

Endowment Portfolio Market Value by Purpose

The endowment portfolio is comprised of hundreds of individual endowment funds that were designated for a specific purpose by the donor and are invested as a part of the endowment portfolio. Annual income generated by the endowment portfolio is proportionally distributed to the designated purposes of each endowed fund, and is intended to keep the principal amount intact while distributing the investment income in perpetuity.

The endowment portfolio provides annual income support for several purposes across the UCR campus including endowed chair professorships, student aid, research, and departmental use.

Endowment Investment Pool

The UCR Foundation has chosen the Office of the Chief Investment Officer of the Regents (UC Investments Team) to manage the Foundation’s endowment portfolio. The Foundation has chosen to allocate the majority of the endowment portfolio across several investment vehicles managed by the UC Investments Team including the General Endowment Pool (Regents GEP), Blue and Gold Pool (Regents BGP), and Short Term Investment Pool (STIP). The Foundation also has an investment in the Highlander Venture Fund, a private equity venture capital fund.
